Design Build Studio
T-Box
In my junior year, I had the opportunity to be the Studio manager of the design build studio at Norwich.
It was an exciting time, because we were working on five different projects for a variety of clients. Our largest and most important project of the semester was entitled “The T-Box”, and served as a proof that the school of architecture and art could build large, intensive projects, which set the process in motion for the University to be approved for the 2013 Solar Decathlon project.
The T-Box team consisted ofBrian Tarbox, Leanne Waterman , Meredith Hankins, Jeff Cooper and myself.
The T-Box was designed to be sold at auction as an artist studio; it was a small space where the artist could get away from distractions and practice their art. The simplistic floor plan allowed for a variety of configurations to the space. All components of this project where designed, fabricated and assembled by our team at Norwich, and budgeting, time management, and advertizing where the responsibility of the studio manager (myself).
The Picnic Table
This project group consisted of Chris Jergens, Kristen Wilbur, Nelson Gomez , Kerri Ingraham, and myself.
The concept was to design, build, and fabricate a picnic table that could be used at the Montpelier, Vermont farmers market. We designed this pine table so that it could fold down and be transported within the size of a suitcase. The benches would also collapse and could be carried separately.
